The popular activity of exchanging used batteries and old books for gifts will return at the 8th Phu My Hung Green Living Day, held from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on August 9, 2025, at Crescent Lake Park, Tan Hung Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. This initiative has received strong positive feedback in previous years, helping raise environmental awareness within the community.
This year, participants can bring used batteries, phone chargers, electronic devices, comic books, children’s books, school supplies, old toys, plastic bottles, paper, and more to exchange for gifts such as snacks, keychains, potted plants, toys, and stationery.
According to the Organizers, in 2024, the program collected approximately 2,000 old textbooks and storybooks, along with over 120 kg of used batteries. These numbers highlight the growing impact of the green and healthy living movement among local residents.
The Phu My Hung Green Living Day is an annual event organized by Phu My Hung Corporation to promote eco-friendly and healthy lifestyles in the community.
In addition to the battery and book exchange, the 2025 festival will feature many other environmentally focused activities, including: making toys from recycled materials, exploring STEM-based waste sorting activities, enjoying a balance bike playground made from plastic waste, and decorating plant pots.
The event is free and open to all visitors.
